Pumpkin Spice Latte Waffles

To be 100% real with y’all I’m kind of over the flood of pumpkin everything showing up all over the internet these days. Don’t get me wrong, I love pumpkin stuff, but this year it seems like overkill. I can’t get away from it. It haunts me in my dreams. So this morning when I woke up feeling good for the first time in 4 days (after fighting a stomach bug) I caved and decided to make these Pumpkin Spice Latte Waffles from Minimalist Baker

Vegan in Buffalo, NY: Pizza Plant

Technically it was Cheektowaga, NY just outside Buffalo, but close enough. The husband and I were kind of stranded at a Best Western just outside Buffalo airport for 24 hours with no car and only a Denny’s near us for food. We couldn’t afford a taxi to downtown Buffalo so after a little internet research we found a place called Pizza Plant a few miles away that had vegan options. Hurray!

Free Flow Friday 10/25/13

I failed at posting a Free Flow Friday last week, but I have a good excuse. I was in Canada for the husband’s family reunion (no, he’s not from Canada, don’t ask) and the wireless in the house we were staying in was awful. I guess when you have 20 people in one place all on their computers, iPhones and iPads the bandwidth can get a little abused. Plus we were busy having fun and I really didn’t want to be on my computer. So, I apologize, I hope you can forgive me.

Vegan in Niagara: Bamboo Natural Food Market

The husband and I took a trip out to Niagara on the Lake in Ontario Canada this past week for his family reunion. We stayed in a gorgeous house right on Lake Ontario (all 20 of us!) and I had a blast getting to know all of his family a little better. We went to the falls, Fort George, a few wineries and did a lot of relaxing while taking in the surroundings on the back porch. Vegan options were few and far between, but we made due with what we had to work with!

Stay Happy & Positive in the Colder Months

I am definitely solar powered. When the sun is shining and the skies are blue I tend to have massive amounts of energy. As soon as the sun goes down or it’s a gloomy day all motivation disappears and I just want to sit on the couch and watch TV. Though winters in Los Angeles are pretty mild, we have our share of grey days and getting dark before 5pm is always a bummer, so I have a few tricks up my sleeve to stay happy, motivated and having fun during those dreary months.
