Vegan Chipshots

A chipshot is a drink shot consisting of cold coffee, Tuaca and Irish cream and I only discovered this recently when I was googling the recipe for them. You see, to me, chipshots were always served hot in a huge mug topped with tons of whipped cream. That’s how I was first introduced to them about 14 years ago from my Uncle Dan and I wanted to make a vegan version in tribute to him.

Adopt a Turkey from Farm Sanctuary

Can you believe Thanksgiving is this week already? I’m sure at this point you guys have your menus planned and are looking forward to sitting down with family to a compassionate meal. Free Flow Friday: 11/22/13 Does the Universe Provide?

Me, my husband and our friend Thomas had an interesting discussion at the beginning of the week about the universe and it’s role in our lives. You often hear people (myself included) talking about how the universe will provide, or the universe will bring you what you want. This topic has come up over and over again in the past year for me and the people closest to me, so I wanted to go into it a little further.

Chocolate Hazelnut Banana Baklava

I have never used phyllo dough before in my life. To be honest, it has always kind of scared me in a way that had me shying away while secretly wishing to play with it. I’ve heard all the phyllo dough horror stories and didn’t want to be one of those sad, sad victims of dessert nightmares. It kept nagging at me though and when I saw the pretty little box of it at Trader Joe’s I threw it in the cart.

I highly recommend you check it out! But first, read on to learn a little bit more Cadry!

Gardein & VeeV Holiday Cocktail & Cooking Class

Sometimes I feel so blessed for getting to experience incredibly cool events. The Holiday Cocktail and Cooking Class featuring Gardein and VeeV was definitely one of those times. I am kicking myself for not suggesting that my staff photographer (a.k.a. the husband) bring his camera, so sadly I had to capture the night with my iPhone. Loser. I know.

What I’m Loving this Fall

It was 90° in Los Angeles yesterday, so NOT Fall weather, but today it has cooled down a bit and I’m crossing my fingers that the cooling trend continues.
