Vegan San Diego: Moncai Vegan

I may have mentioned a couple times on the blog how San Diego is severely lacking in the vegan restaurant department. This may make local vegans here upset, but please cut me some slack, I came from L.A. – the land of endless amazing vegan food options. I was spoiled, so in comparison SD just doesn’t match up.

Restaurant Review: Pokez

I’ve been hearing about this magical place in San Diego for a few years now that serves vegan Mexican food: Pokez. If you’ve paid attention to this blog at all you know how much I love Mexican food, but it’s hard to find an authentic tasting vegan version. I spent this past weekend downtown with my guy and finally had a chance to try it out.

Vegan in Maui, HI

Significant change is always followed by renewal and growth. If you’ve been following along you know that my life took a major turn this year. While it was emotionally trying, just like a Phoenix that rises from the ash, I have emerged stronger and with a clarity I didn’t have before. Many good things have come from this upheaval – one of which was a trip to Maui!!

Restaurant Review: Gracias Madre WeHo

When I left San Francisco almost 3 years ago there were two major things I was going to miss: my best friend Jen and Gracias Madre, a vegan Mexican restaurant owned by the same folks that run Cafe Gratitude. Restaurant Review: Satdha Thai

I am ruined for all other Thai food in Los Angeles after experiencing Satdha Plant Based Thai Kitchen in Santa Monica. Satdha is no run of the mill Thai restaurant, the dishes are inventive, beautifully presented and so full of flavor your mind will be blown upon first bite.

Vegan in Buffalo, NY: Pizza Plant

Technically it was Cheektowaga, NY just outside Buffalo, but close enough. The husband and I were kind of stranded at a Best Western just outside Buffalo airport for 24 hours with no car and only a Denny’s near us for food. We couldn’t afford a taxi to downtown Buffalo so after a little internet research we found a place called Pizza Plant a few miles away that had vegan options. Hurray!

Restaurant Review: Elderberries

Fellowship of the Vegetable Elderberries Review 1

The Los Angeles vegan community likes to talk. A LOT. What do they tend to talk about most? Food, of course! So I thought I was pretty in the know about all the vegan restaurants in the area, but for some reason I had never heard of Elderberries Cafe. Vegan, Organic, and Gluten Free options abound in this quaint little place on a quieter stretch of Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.

Crossroads

Last month Tal Ronnan opened a new plant-based restaurant on Melrose in Los Angeles called Crossroads. The vegan community here has been all a-buzz about this place and for good reason! The husband and I and two of our friends went there for a dinner a couple weeks ago and it did not disappoint.
